Dear WOW Friends and Supporters,
WOW Café is more than a café—it is a training center that equips vulnerable youth and single mothers with practical job skills, work experience, and the confidence they need to build a better future. Through our Work Training Program, young people from families of widows and orphans receive hands-on experience in business, customer service, food preparation, hospitality, food safety, cash handling, and teamwork. Participants also learn important workplace values such as punctuality, responsibility, communication, and integrity. For many, this is their very first opportunity to gain real employment experience that they can include on their CV.
One of our recent success stories is Hussein, a student from our Sponsor-A-Child program. While preparing to continue his education, Hussein completed our Barista Job Training Program and then successfully finished an internship at WOW Café. At the completion of the program, he received two certificates: one recognizing his successful completion of the Barista Training Program, and a second acknowledging his internship and practical work experience. As Hussein returns to school, he does so with valuable job skills, real workplace experience, professional references, and certifications that will strengthen his CV and improve his future employment opportunities.
Our vision extends beyond one student. WOW Café is building a pathway for many vulnerable young people who have completed secondary school but need experience before entering the workforce or pursuing higher education. We also provide opportunities for single mothers, especially widows and mothers of children in our Sponsor-A-Child program, to receive job training, develop practical skills, and rebuild their work history. Through this experience, they gain confidence, references, and employable skills that help them re-enter the job market and work toward financial independence.
Your support makes these life-changing opportunities possible. Every meal purchased, every donation given, and every partnership formed helps keep the doors of WOW Café open so that we can continue training vulnerable youth and empowering families. Together, we are not only serving food—we are serving hope, creating opportunities, and helping transform lives through education, skills development, and meaningful work. Thank you for standing with us and helping us invest in the futures of young people like Hussein and the many others who will follow in his footsteps.
