The CodeHer Uganda Project will provide 1000 girls with hands-on training in web development, mobile app creation, and computational thinking from our Gulu Women's Resource Center. Beyond technical skills, the Project will offer mentorship, internship placements, and seed funding for girls who develop innovative solutions to community problems, from apps addressing agricultural efficiency to platforms improving healthcare access.
In Uganda, where 70% of adolescent girls face barriers to education, and only 35% of women participate in the digital economy, CodeHer Uganda is bridging the gender gap in technology. This project provides free coding classes to 1,000 underserved girls aged 12-24, equipping them with in-demand programming skills, digital literacy, and confidence to pursue careers in tech.
CodeHer Uganda provides girls market-relevant training in locally demanded technologies like mobile App development and fintech, paired with mentorship from successful Ugandan women in tech who provide career guidance and professional networks.
The project will create a sustainable pipeline of 1,000 skilled female tech professionals and entrepreneurs who generate income, support their families, and break intergenerational poverty cycles, demonstrating to communities that investing in girls' education yields tangible economic returns
