2018 has kicked off to a great start, we've been busy responding to community demand for new resources. In January our education team produced a new Idea Generation and This set of worksheets help Ninjas design and build their project. It guides Ninjas through each step of the design process with prompts and questions to fill in along the way. This guide aims to assist Ninjas in working through project ideas for Coolest Projects. Our community growth is on target and we are global community consists of 1,721 Dojos across 90+ countries around the world! What an amazing achievement
We are also delighted to announce that the first UK Coolest Projects event is happening in OverHere venue in London the 28th of April - we'll look forward to seeing the fantastic projects Ninjas will showcase there.
As an organisation we are data-driven a summary and future actions for CoderDojo included: We need to undertake deeper research into the motivations of the volunteer community; we want to test large-scale volunteer recruitment initiatives; redevelop and restructure all support and starter content; continue work on, and evaluation of, our Girls initiative in order to recruit more female mentors.
CoderDojo Coolest Projects 2018
With over 1000+ young people having registered over 700 projects already, 2018 will see the biggest Coolest Projects, to date, taking place on the 26th of May. This year we are expecting over 15,000 attendees to attend Coolest Projects. This is a global showcase that inspires the next generation of digital creators, innovators, changemakers and entrepreneurs. This year, for the first time, Coolest Projects will be run as an initiative of the CoderDojo Foundation, with support from a dedicated team of volunteers! The CoderDojo Coolest Projects Showcase offers young people from the international CoderDojo Community the opportunity to present the projects they have created at their local CoderDojo. It is both a competition and exhibition to showcase, inspire and enable innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and technology skills in youth innovators aged 7 – 17.
