Dear Supporters,
Thank you for standing with us to ensure that girls from underserved communities in Albania can access high-quality digital learning opportunities. Your donations help remove barriers for vulnerable girls and youth to participate in meaningful, future-oriented programs that build skills, confidence, and pathways to employment.
What happened (Korça ICT Academy – Code for Albania 2025)
In July 2025, the Korça ICT Academy – Code for Albania 2025 brought together 100 young people from across Albania to build practical skills in programming, app development, and real-world problem solving. The program delivers 80+ hours of hands-on training led by international instructors from Stanford University and other technology/education hubs in the U.S. and Canada. The academy is part of a broader initiative supported through a partnership that includes coordination with Code.X, AlphaPlan Center, and the Municipality of Korçë, and is designed with two components: (1) a two-week summer camp in Korçë, and (2) a year-round mentoring cycle with workshops planned every 3–4 weeks.
How your support made a difference
Thanks to your donations and other contributions, World Vision Albania sponsored 15 vulnerable young people to participate in the academy, including 6 young girls, who otherwise would not have been able to afford the cost of participation.
After the academy, our sponsored participants continued in the online mentoring component, staying connected with mentors and learning opportunities beyond the summer camp (through regular online workshops and mentoring support).
In rural and underserved settings, girls often face barriers such as limited access to quality digital education, lack of role models in STEM, and fewer opportunities to practice skills in supportive environments. This project helps them gain market-relevant digital skills and exposure to mentoring relationships that can expand their horizons and support long-term success.
What’s next (2026 cycle)
We are preparing for the next cycle of Korça ICT Academy / Code for Albania. Applications are expected to open in May, and World Vision Albania aims to support 8 additional vulnerable girls to participate and continue benefiting from the mentoring pathway throughout the year.
How funds are used
The full annual program cost per student has been communicated as €1,000, which covers the two-week camp and the mentoring component. Donations help us sponsor participation for vulnerable youth by covering core participation costs and ensuring they can fully benefit from the program.
How you can help
Your generosity is opening doors for young people, especially girls, from communities with fewer opportunities. If you would like to continue supporting this work, please consider donating again or sharing this project with your network.
With gratitude,
Fondacioni World Vision Albania / Project Team
