Dear donors,

Srini (name changed) is completing his primary school under difficult circumstances. His family lives in a kuttcha hut in the area of Kajapettai. Headed by an alcoholic father, he and his sister are primarily supported by their mother who works as a maid for their livelihood. The coaching classes foster an environment where he works on his passion for reading and writing in his mother tongue, Tamil.

Sreeni and his friends in the coaching class also participated in exciting events during this quarter:

The Tamil harvest festival "Pongal" was celebrated in the office premises of New Life on 13th January. Games were conducted for the children, prizes were given and "pongal" (sweetened rice) was distributed to the gathering. The children enjoyed the celebration to the core.

The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in Kajapettai. The children from our early learning centre participated in Fancy Dress Competition and all were given prizes. It was a joyous sight to see small Gandhi, Bharthi, Subash Chandra Bose, Mother Teresa, Jansi Rani, etc. Children from our coaching class delivered speeches on great leaders and on national flag. The programme ended with sweet distribution.

Our coaching class children participated in Udhayam, an inter school competition held by the Rotary Club of Trichirappalli Sakthi on 18.02.2017. Competitions were held both individually and in groups. Extempore speech, poetry writing, memory and word games, group singing and "Neeya Naana"(debate forum) were conducted. The whole day was a memorable one which brought out the talents of 15 school children.

Now the coaching class children are preparing for their annual exams.

The confidence level of our children has increased solely due to the support you are providing through us. This quarter, we had spent $ 1587 on the employees, rent and training materials for the coaching class. This was primarily met with the generous community grant we received from Global Giving. We are hoping to provide a holistic development of these children, with your contributions this time.

Thank you dear donors for this continued support, Kindly keep up the good work by also spreading words about our organisation's work in social media and by word of mouth to your friends and relatives. Your support keep us motivated.

Thank you once again,

With regards
