Seetha wants her son to become a teacher

By F Beatrice Vanaja | Chief Administrative Officer

Dear donors and wellwishers,

Greetings from New Life!

Prem is the son of a coolie Mr. Raja and Mrs.Seetha a house wife (names changed). The family income is very low at $100 per month. Prem has an elder brother and a younger sister. His parents are less educated and want their children to study well. So they are sending the three children to school. Prem is an average student. He studies in 11th standard in the nearby Government School. He wants to be coached in his studies. But the parents could not do that.

Mrs. Seetha says, "Though I want my children to study well, I could not coach them in their studies. I studied upto 6th standard. My husband also could not spend time on children's studies as he comes home very tired after long hours of hard physical work. It was then we admitted Prem to the coaching class of New Life. Before going to the coaching class he used to score 45% marks. But after joining the class, we can see the improvement in him. In the 10th standard Public Exams he scored 62% of marks. We are happy about it. I hope he will score more in his 12th Public Exams, thanks to the coaching class. I dream of him becoming a teacher and lead a good life unlike now. I believe this will happen. "

Children like Prem whose parents are less educated or illiterates are admitted in the evening tuitions of New Life. They are being coached byan experienced teacher. Their scores have improved much and their interest in studies too has improved. This is all possible only by the noble support we get from you dear donors.

During this quarter, we have not received any donations. The expenses of running the coaching classes are borne by borrowings from wellwishers. Hence we appeal to you to donate generously and also morally support the project  by spreading words about our work to your near and dear ones. Your words carry weight and we are sure that the project could be continued successfully with your support.

Thank you dear donors for being with us.

With regards
