Hi dear donors,
This August 15th, our children celebrated the 69th Indian Independence Day by hoisting the national flag in our Kodappu coaching center. Special events were organised by the children. The celebrations went on till the evening, now in the Project office of New Life. The students delivered a speech on an eminent national leader and their qualities which inspired them. Gymastic exercises (like human pyramid formations) and yoga were demonstrated by the students. This was followed by dance programmes and song performances. The quiz programme ended the celebrations on an informative note. Questions were asked and small gifts, given to all of them. The children went home with a filled stomach and an inspired mind.
Archana is studying 7th standard. Her father is Nirai and her mother is KaniMozhi. She has three brothers. Archana’s parents are working as coolies (daily wage labourers). They were not able to support their children in their studies after long hours of hard work. Even if they found the time for it, they could not help the children as they are not well educated. They could not afford the money for Archana's coaching either. They heard about New Life's free coaching classes and found it a blessing to their family. Archana was reportedly an average student before joining our coaching classes. She was securing 45% marks in the subjects on an average. Now, she scores 62% average marks. She is very much interested in Science and she aims to become a nurse one day.
About her examination fear, Archana recollected: "Before joining this coaching class, I was very much afraid of examinations. I had fevers due to it. But now, I feel that my fear is slowly disappearing and I am gaining confidence too. The tips given by the coaching class teacher help me to face the exams with more will power."
Children like Archana, who have the motivation but lack the means for their studies are being helped by the coaching classes of New Life.Thanks dear donors, you have made this possible.
