Afzal, 10 years old (name changed) is studying in the coaching class for two years now. When she joined the class her percentage of marks was 60%. The team of New Life found it to be worrying to see that her marks are showing a decending trend. When we enquired into the cause, she told us that she is having frequent headaches and could not concentrate much on her studies now. Afzal's mom was called and guided to take her to a medical check up.
Afzal's mother is worried about the medical expenses as her husband gives a small portion for family expenses and spends most of it for himself. He works as a mason and earns well. But he has all vices. He comes home drunk and beats his wife and 2 daughters.
In spite of her pitiful family situation, Afzal is friendly with her fellow mates. She is average in her studies. And she wants to improve. Her favourite subject is English. She loves the teaching profession and her future aim is to become a teacher.
