Dear Donors,
"Why should poverty be an obstacle to my studies?" asks Riya (name changed). Riya is 12 years old, comes from a very poor family of a tailor mother and a coolie father. Riya is now in the 7th standard. She has an elder brother. Her brother could not speak well. Riya has kidney stone.
In spite of all these odds, Riya wants to become a doctor. She wants to help people like her brother and herself. She says, "Some people say that poor can not become doctors as it requires much time and money. Bu I feel being poor can't stop me from becoming a doctor. My poverty motivates me to study well and with all your support (donors and New Life) I will definitely do well."
Children like Riya are our motivators to continue our journey in supporting such loveable, determined children. In the academic year 2017-18, three of our boys have passed the tenth standard and entered the Higher Secondary Education and two girls have passed the Higher Secondary Education and joined Undergraduation in Micro Biology. And 100% of our coaching class students have been promoted to the next standard. Abay who you met in the last report, scored 75% in the tenth standard and is now doing his Higher Secondary Education.
During summer all the children in our coaching class were motivated to cultivate their reading and learning habits by using the books distributed through our mobile library. You can learn more about the mobile library in the below link: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/mobile-library-for-slum-children-in-trichy-india/
Dear donors, New Life is completing its 25th anniversary on 24th June 2018. During this eve, we take pride and pleasure in thanking you all who have been with us in our journey, supporting and motivating us. Celebrate the joy of your dearest organisation's silver jubilee by continuing your support to us. Kindly spread words about the organisation and help us reach more children like Riya and Abay. Kindly keep sharing our reports with your friends and family.
Thanking you once again.
