The mission of the Clubes de Ciencia México (CdeCMx) team is to expand access to science education of the highest quality and motivate the next generation of scientists, technologists, and innovators in the country through intensive courses in various STEM areas and the creation of networks of international talent.
CdeCMx was born in 2014, and throughout these eight years of operations, we have developed an educational model that combines face-to-face and distance education. Our main program is the Clubes de Ciencia (Science Clubs), which consists of intensive courses aimed at middle and high school students on various science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics.
In 2022 we returned to face-to-face activities under a hybrid model with thirty Clubs (courses) taught in 9 cities. Different academic activities complemented the Clubs, such as an online webinar on how to apply to postgraduate programs abroad, a workshop on how to assemble and use the origami microscope Foldscope, and a seminar on our carbon footprint to raise awareness among our participants about our environment. Additionally, integration activities included two sports rallies and ten science cafes where students could interact directly with instructors and learn from their experiences as scientists.
Check out our new video about this year.
We want to extend our sincere thanks to our donors and sponsors. Also, to our team of instructors, coordinators and local committees, collaborators, and volunteers for their invaluable contribution of time and knowledge to the development and logistics of the Clubes de Ciencia México. We couldn't have done it without you!
New adventures and lots of science for next year!

Dear Project Supporter:
We are running our 2022 summer edition of Clubes de Ciencia México thanks to all of your generous support.
This edition started on July 10th, and we have around 500 students enrolled in 31 clubs (workshops) in 9 cities. Thanks to your donations, the students could enroll cost-free in the courses.
We started our clubs this month in Oaxaca, Guadalajara and Ensenada, and then in August we will be in Guanajuato, La Paz, Chihuahua, Monterrey, Xalapa and Merida..
To date, we have raised $10,500 this year. We would greatly appreciate your continued support in helping us reach the goal. If you are not yet a recurring donor, we kindly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation.
If you want to know more about our organization and our programs, you are welcome to e-mail us at contacto@clubesdeciencia.mx or visit our website clubesdeciencia.mx. We would love to hear your comments.

Dear Project Supporter:
We are excited to present our Annual Activity Report 2021, where you can find information about our organization’s operating, academic and financial activities and their impact on society during 2021.
We are so thankful for your support! So far, we have raised $18,465 of our $50,000 goal. The money raised will bring more science and quality education to Mexican youth and the general public. It will also allow all people who participate and benefit from our programs to continue doing so for free.
We would greatly appreciate your continued support in helping us reach the goal. If you are not yet a recurring donor, we warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation.
Keep supporting the future minds! This 2022 we have many plans that we will soon share. It will be a pleasure to continue contributing to science education in Mexico.

GLOBAL CHALLENGES FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD
Our clubs this year impacted more than 300 students throughout the country with the support of the University of Chicago, the Mexico Harvard Foundation, and the donations received at GlobalGiving. Under their instructors' advice, the student's final projects left us with a big smile when we saw the excellent quality and performance in each one of them.
We thank the jury team for their support in selecting the winners and the University of Chicago STEM-OUT team that sponsored the awards: telescopes, microscopes, robotics kits, Gandhi gift cards, and Amazon.
OUR CLUBS 2021 ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL PUBLIC ONLINE
We undertook to curate and edit all their content to share the 19 clubs with the public through the internet. These clubs will be available on the new miniMOOCs page and our YouTube Channel from December 11 this year.
PODCAST: CLUBEANDO EN CASA
Last month we premiered the third season of the "Clubeando en Casa" podcast focused on stories that highlight the participation of women in science. In addition to the podcast episodes, the blog notes on the page will also relate to this topic.

Dear Project Supporter:
We are excited to have completed our first three months here on GlobalGiving and we are very grateful. Thanks for all your generous support.
During these first months, we had several activities. First, a free symposium “Innovators in Scientific Education” where we invited world-renowned scientists to share their experience and expertise related to science education innovation and its impact. This was a full-day symposium with keynotes such as Manu Prakash (Stanford University), Rafael Irizarry (Harvard University), and Julieta Fierro (UNAM). See poster below. If you missed it, we invite you to see it on our YouTube Channel.
Our 2021 summer online edition started on August 2nd and with your support, we have 400 students enrolled in 19 clubs (workshops), 5 of our clubs will be experimental and the 100 students enrolled in these have received their laboratory supplies for their courses. Thanks to your support students can enroll cost-free. The topic for this year is Global Challenges for a sustainable world, where students will use science and technology to tackle a global problem defined by one of the Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
We are so thankful for your support, together we are advancing the education of Mexican youth. So far we have raised $6,574 of our $50,000 goal. We would greatly appreciate your continued support in helping us reach the goal. If you are not yet a recurring donor, we warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation.
This is our first report through GlobalGiving and we would love to hear your comments and ideas about what information you would like to see in these reports.
