At the end of this month we will launch a bigger and better version of our programme. The changes that we have invested in make sure that our trained community entrepreneurs can purchase large bales of clothes for their micro-businesses, which means they have wider diversity of stock and a continual supply available to them. The aim of this is to support continual growth in the businesses that our community entrepreneurs create under our guidance.
We are proud to announce a new collaboration that makes this possible. Clothes to Cash Exchange (C2CX) are a local social enterprise with expertise in clothing sourcing and cleaning. This leads us away from the time-consuming process of sourcing clothing to focus more centrally on the quality of our training and the sustainability of our programme. The clothes are cleaned and sorted to make 20kg ‘bales’ made up of a specific mix of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.
By working together we have created a win-win opportunity for both our social enterprises, and we all increase our social impact. We think that’s pretty exciting and we hope you enjoy that you are part of that! You can learn more about the social purpose commitments of Clothes to Cash Exchange to people with disabilities, and the environment, on their website.
With 10 'Phetoho' community entrepreneurs now recognised as established entrepreneurs we want to learn from their progress to share lessons from their early experiences with our future trainees.
