The Almajiri Children are less privileged children who have been abandoned on the streets by their parents and guardians to cater for themselves. Alot of them have been subjected to child abuses and very harsh conditions of living without adeqaute feeding, clothing and shelter. Our project seeks to provide cloths and foods for at least , 500 of these children who are the leaders of tomorrow. It is rainy season and we believe that these clothes will protect them from cold and other ailments.
The Almajiri System in Nigeria has been in existence for so long. These poor children are exposed to alot of dangers and abuses as they are made to cater for themselves. The system is dominated by children between the ages of 5 and 17. They are made to wear anything and survive only through the help that are rendered to them by well-meaning members of the public. The system is majorly in existence in the Northern part of Nigeria where Islam is predominantly practiced.
This project will help provide clothing and food for 500 of these Almajiri Children in Keffi. The clothes will protect them from the harsh conditions of the weather and alleviate hunger among them.
It will lead to improved livelihood for the children.
