During this quarter, the initaitve reached a total of 2,350 farmers and 497 soil samples were analysed to assess soil health, identify nutrient deficiencies, and provide crop-specific recommendations aimed at improving productivity.

Success Story: Transforming Onion Cultivation – The Journey of Dattatray

At the Mann Deshi Agriculture Centre, our mission is to empower farmers with scientific agricultural practices and personalized support. One such inspiring story is that of Dattatray, an onion farmer.

When Dattatray first approached us, their onion farm produced an average of 200 bags (30 kg each). Despite this, they faced high input costs, spending nearly 60,000 on fertilizers and other inputs. We identified an opportunity to not only boost their yield but also reduce their production costs.
We began with a comprehensive soil test to analyze nutrient profiles, pH levels, and deficiencies. This shifted Dattatray away from generic fertilization toward precise, need-based nutrient management.
Our agronomists designed a tailored fertilizer schedule based on the soil test results, ensuring the crops received the right nutrients at the right time, eliminating waste and promoting robust growth.
Regular farm visits allowed real-time monitoring, timely problem-solving, and personalized guidance suited to the area's conditions.
Integrated Pest & Disease Management such as Introduced targeted fungicidal applications and preventive strategies, Recommended effective management practices to protect yields and Advised on silicon use to strengthen plants against stress, pests, and diseases was provided.
The Results were transformative with output rising from 200 bags to 310 bags, a 55% increase in productivity. Fertilizer and input expenses dropped from 60,000 to 41,000, saving him 19,000With increased yields and reduced costs, Mr. Dombale achieved significantly higher net income, transforming his farming operations and improving financial stability.
This success story demonstrates how scientific practices, precise input management, and continuous support can empower farmers, improve profitability, and create long-term resilience in agriculture.
