Dear Friends and Supporters of Splash:
Thank you for continuing to support us, our mission & vision, and the kids we serve throughout these challenging, and at many times overwhelming, times. As an organization that truly believes in learning, adapting, and finding a way forward, this has been a time of great growth and pivots.
With schools in Kolkata, India and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia being closed for a majority of 2020, this allowed us to step back and identify how to best serve the kids who are the heart of our mission. This allowed us to maintain our infrastructure work while also reimagining how to communicate our Behavior Change programs and Menstrual Health support in a digital landscape.
Now, as we begin to see what 2021 has in store for all of us, we can share that schools in both Kolkata and Addis are reopening, with Grades 9 and 10 welcoming kids back to the classroom in Kolkata and all grades and classrooms being open in Addis Ababa. To support social distancing, over 1,700 additional classrooms were constructed.
We are happy to share more specific numbers of impact below:
We are encouraged by our plans for 2021 and look forward to sharing more during our next update.
Be well, and thank you for all of your generous support. Please reach out to us at info@splash.org with any questions or to chat through anything further.
