Meet Rose!
Every morning in Uasonyiro, Kenya, 14-year-old Rose ties up her school shoes and heads down the dusty path. She walks 1.5 kilometers not just to learn, but to carry hope home.
At home, Rose is responsible for cooking, washing clothes, and fetching water. Until recently, that meant long trips to the river, carrying heavy containers back for her family. But now, her walk to school has a new meaning: she can bring clean water home with her, directly from her school.
Rose’s favorite subject is English, and it’s no coincidence that her English teacher is also her favorite person. "Teachers are what I love most about my community. They are kind, they care, and they inspire me." Someday, she hopes to stand at the front of a classroom herself, guiding students the way her teachers guide her.
For Rose, clean water means time to study, energy to dream, and the confidence to imagine a future where she becomes the teacher she already knows she can be.
Because of your support, Rose and many other students not only have clean water, they also have hope.
