Every Child Deserves Safe Drinking Water
Clean drinking water is not a luxury. It is a basic human necessity, a fundamental human right, and an essential foundation for children's health, growth, and development.
Yet millions of people across Pakistan continue to face challenges in accessing safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water.
According to WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme estimates for 2024, only approximately 45% of Pakistan's population had access to safely managed drinking water services, meaning around 55% lacked this level of access.
For vulnerable families, particularly those living in underserved and rural communities, inadequate drinking-water services can increase exposure to waterborne diseases, create additional household burdens, and threaten children's health and well-being.
Children are especially vulnerable to illnesses associated with contaminated water. Access to safe drinking water, adequate hydration, proper sanitation, and good hygiene is essential to support their healthy development and overall well-being.
Our Commitment to Clean Water in Pakistan
Sanash Welfare Foundation (SWF), a registered non-profit organization in Pakistan, remains committed to improving access to safe drinking water through its planned Clean Water for Communities initiative.
Our project aims to support underserved communities in selected districts of Pakistan through sustainable, community-focused water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) interventions.
Subject to funding, technical assessments, community needs, and the necessary authorizations, our intended activities include:
Identifying vulnerable communities facing inadequate access to safe drinking water.
Assessing local drinking-water sources and water-quality risks.
Exploring suitable community water filtration, purification, or supply solutions.
Promoting safe drinking-water practices, hygiene awareness, and responsible water use.
Encouraging community participation and long-term ownership of water facilities.
Supporting awareness of children's safe hydration and water-related health needs.
Our vision is to help create healthier communities where children, women, and families can access safe drinking water with dignity.
Project Implementation Update: Regulatory and Banking Challenges
We believe our supporters deserve transparent and accurate information about the progress of this project.
Unfortunately, the implementation of our clean-water project has not yet commenced because Sanash Welfare Foundation continues to face administrative, regulatory, and financial compliance challenges associated with establishing a fully operational organizational bank account with the required Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and related authorizations in Pakistan.
The documentation and compliance requirements involving relevant government, regulatory, banking, and tax authorities have taken longer than anticipated.
These unresolved requirements have delayed our ability to establish the necessary financial arrangements for receiving, managing, and disbursing project funds in accordance with applicable laws and donor-accountability standards.
We recognize the importance of regulatory compliance, financial transparency, responsible fund management, and safeguarding donor contributions.
We remain committed to completing all applicable requirements before beginning project expenditure and field implementation.
Although these delays are disappointing, they have not changed our determination to support communities that urgently need clean and safe drinking water.
What Happens Next?
While the necessary approvals and banking arrangements remain pending, our priorities are to:
Continue working toward completion of the required organizational banking, KYC, and regulatory procedures.
Maintain communication with potential donors, partners, and supporters.
Further develop our proposed implementation approach and community engagement plans.
Prepare for appropriate technical assessments, procurement planning, and project mobilization once authorized.
Establish a compliant and accountable foundation for the responsible management of future project funds.
We will communicate significant developments and implementation milestones through subsequent project updates.
A Special Appeal to Our Global Community
To our valued supporters, donors, humanitarian partners, and friends around the world:
We sincerely request that you continue standing with Sanash Welfare Foundation and the communities we hope to serve.
Administrative delays should not diminish the urgency of the clean-water crisis or the importance of preparing sustainable solutions.
Your continued encouragement, visibility, advocacy, and support through authorized donation channels can help maintain momentum while we work to satisfy the outstanding requirements.
If you are considering a financial contribution, please use the officially available GlobalGiving donation facility and understand that field implementation remains pending until the necessary approvals and financial arrangements are in place.
We are not announcing completed installations, delivered water systems, or direct beneficiaries at this stage. We will report verified achievements once implementation begins.
Together, We Can Turn Preparation into Action
Safe drinking water supports healthier children, stronger families, better hygiene, and more resilient communities.
Our immediate challenge is administrative, but the humanitarian need is real.
With your continued trust and support, we hope to move from preparation to implementation as soon as the required authorizations are secured.
Every child deserves safe water. Every community deserves a healthier future.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping keep the promise of clean water alive.
