Update: Clean Water for Community 2026

By Malik Ashfaq Ahmad Ahmad | Project Leader

Project Significance & Organizational Commitment

Access to clean and safe drinking water is not just a development priority for us—it lies at the very heart of our organizational mission. This project represents our long-standing commitment to protecting vulnerable communities, particularly children and women, from preventable health risks linked to unsafe water sources.

In many of the communities we serve, children continue to face multiple threats—waterborne diseases, poor sanitation, malnutrition, and limited health awareness. Unsafe water compounds these risks, directly affecting child survival, school attendance, and overall family well-being. Advocacy for clean water therefore remains one of our core programmatic pillars, even during periods of organizational transition.

Progress during the Reporting Period

During this reporting period, direct implementation activities were temporarily paused due to an internal organizational restructuring process. As part of this transition:

  • Fundraising activities for this project were intentionally halted to allow for governance, financial, and operational realignment
  • Internal reviews were conducted to strengthen accountability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability
  • Field engagement continued at a community and advocacy level, maintaining dialogue with local stakeholders on water safety and hygiene awareness

While physical infrastructure work (such as installation or rehabilitation of water points) did not advance during this phase, the project remains active in planning, prioritization, and community coordination.

Challenges Encountered

  • Temporary suspension of fundraising, limiting the availability of immediate implementation funds
  • Organizational restructuring required focused internal capacity-building and system strengthening
  • Rising community needs contrasted with constrained short-term resources

These challenges, while significant, are part of a deliberate effort to ensure that future interventions are stronger, more transparent, and more impactful.

Why This Project Still Matters – Now More Than Ever

Despite the pause in fundraising, the need for clean water in our target communities has not diminished. Children remain exposed to unsafe water sources, increasing risks of diarrhea, infections, and long-term health complications. Women and girls continue to bear the burden of water collection, often from unsafe and distant sources.

Our advocacy efforts continue to emphasize that:

  • Clean water is a preventive health intervention, not a luxury
  • Safe water directly supports child protection, education, and nutrition outcomes
  • Sustainable water solutions reduce long-term dependency and health costs for families

Next Steps & Way Forward

With the organizational restructuring nearing completion, our next priorities include:

  • Gradual re-activation of fundraising efforts for the clean water initiative
  • Re-engagement with donors and partners through transparent communication
  • Finalization of updated implementation plans aligned with available resources
  • Resumption of field activities as funds become available

We remain fully committed to delivering this project with integrity, accountability, and measurable impact.

Message to Our Supporters

This project is close to our heart because we have witnessed firsthand how a single clean water source can transform lives, protect children, and restore dignity to communities. While this reporting period focused on strengthening our foundation rather than visible outputs, we believe this pause will enable us to return stronger and more effective.

We are deeply grateful to our supporters for their patience, trust, and continued belief in our mission.
