Project Report | Nov 3, 2025
Clean Water for Community - Various Districts PK

By Malik Ashfaq Ahmad Shahid | CEO

1. Project Summary

The Clean Water for Community project aims to provide access to safe and clean drinking water for vulnerable communities across several districts in Pakistan. Through this initiative, Sanash Welfare Foundation seeks to install hand pumps, rehabilitate community water sources, and raise awareness about hygiene and waterborne diseases.

Our focus is on improving the quality of life for underprivileged families who currently rely on unsafe or distant water sources, often leading to health risks, school absenteeism, and economic hardship.

2. Progress and Activities

Despite several challenges and unavoidable delays, our team has remained active and committed to achieving the project goals. Below is a summary of progress and ongoing activities:

  • Due Diligence with GlobalGiving:
We completed GlobalGiving’s due diligence and compliance requirements earlier this year, which took longer than anticipated but ensured transparency and institutional accountability for future donors.
  • Community Consultations:
Meetings were conducted with local representatives and village committees to identify the most critical areas lacking access to clean water.
  • Initial Field Assessments:
Assessments were carried out in flood-affected zones of Sindh and South Punjab to evaluate water contamination levels and potential hand pump installation sites.
  • Small-Scale Flood Relief Actions:
While preparing for water system rehabilitation, our volunteers and partners also engaged in limited flood response activities — distributing bottled water, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies to affected families.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
The Foundation engaged with local authorities and partner organizations to align the project implementation plan with district-level water safety standards.

3. Challenges Faced

The project fundraising and reporting were delayed due to several overlapping factors:

  1. Extended due diligence process with GlobalGiving (completed successfully).
  2. Flood relief priorities that temporarily redirected available resources and manpower.
  3. Multiple organizational engagements as Sanash Welfare Foundation expanded its portfolio of humanitarian and development activities.

Despite these delays, our team continued to work on community engagement and data collection to ensure smooth implementation in the next phase.

4. Upcoming Plans

We are now entering the next operational phase with renewed focus and energy. Key next steps include:

  • Finalizing locations for the first batch of water installations in collaboration with local councils.
  • Launching a public awareness campaign on the importance of water conservation and hygiene practices.
  • Mobilizing community volunteers and local labor for low-cost, community-owned water points.
  • Submitting updated progress photos and beneficiary testimonials in the next report.

5. Acknowledgement and Donor Appreciation

We sincerely thank all donors, supporters, and the GlobalGiving team for their patience and continued trust. Your support enables us to make a lasting difference in the lives of communities that struggle daily for clean drinking water.

Every contribution — big or small — helps bring hope and health to families across rural Pakistan.

6. Closing Note

Sanash Welfare Foundation remains determined and fully committed to the Clean Water for Community initiative.
Our teams are actively coordinating with local partners to ensure the timely and transparent execution of all upcoming activities.

Together, we can turn this vision into reality — ensuring that every family has access to clean and safe drinking water.
