Dear Donors
1. Project Overview
Our clean water initiative focuses on improving access to safe and reliable drinking water for families in Bukandula, Butonda and Kasaala. Access to clean water remains a major challenge for many households, exposing children, women and elderly people to health risks and unnecessary hardship.
Through this project, we hope to drill three boreholes to provide sustainable sources of safe water for the surrounding communities.
2. Current Situation
During our community engagements, we have recognised the urgent need for reliable water sources in these three villages. Many families face difficulties accessing clean water for drinking, cooking, washing and other household activities.
Women and children carry much of the burden of collecting water, sometimes walking considerable distances in search of available sources. This takes valuable time away from children's education and other productive activities.
The lack of safe water also increases the risk of waterborne diseases, particularly among young children.
3. Proposed Project Activities
Our plan is to:
- Drill one borehole in Bukandula.
- Drill one borehole in Butonda.
- Drill one borehole in Kasaala.
- Install appropriate pumping systems.
- Establish community water management committees.
- Educate families about water hygiene, sanitation and proper maintenance of the boreholes.
4. Expected Impact
The proposed three boreholes will improve access to safe drinking water for families across the three villages.
The project will help reduce the distance travelled to collect water, protect children from preventable waterborne illnesses, improve household hygiene and give women more time for family responsibilities and income-generating activities.
5. Challenges and Funding Needs
The greatest challenge is the lack of sufficient financial resources to implement the three borehole projects. Drilling, equipment, installation and water quality testing require substantial investment.
We are therefore seeking support from generous donors and development partners to make this initiative possible.
6. Our Appeal to Donors
We believe that access to clean water is a basic human necessity, not a luxury. Families in Bukandula, Butonda and Kasaala deserve the opportunity to enjoy safe drinking water without struggling every day to find it.
We appeal to our friends, partners and well-wishers to support the drilling of these three boreholes.
Your support will bring more than water. It will bring better health, dignity, hope and a brighter future to entire communities.
Together, we can make clean water accessible to every family.
