The lack of clean pipe-borne water in rural villages leads to severe problems, affecting health, quality of life, and socioeconomic conditions. Children miss school to fetch water, negatively impacting their education. Contaminated water causes diseases like cholera and diarrhea, which are leading causes of mortality. This project implements sustainable solutions to provide vulnerable populations in 100 rural villages in Nigeria access to clean and safe drinking water.
Vision Center International plans to install boreholes and conduct health and hygiene education to promote safe water use and practices in communities in rural villages of Nigeria, where access to clean and safe drinking water is limited. The project will benefit vulnerable populations who are most affected by waterborne diseases due to a lack of clean water.
The project will provide access to clean water, significantly decreasing the prevalence of waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea and reducing mortality and morbidity rates. Community leaders will be educated on better hygiene and sanitation, improving overall public health, and reducing infections for 100,000 people in 100 villages.
