Thousands of young girls cannot afford sanitary pads every month in most communities in Nigeria. They are forced to stay away from school and other social activities every month. Some are compelled to use rags and other unsanitary measures, giving rise to health complications and societal stigma.
Vision Center International funded the production of over 200 packs of reusable menstrual pads to distribute to 200 underserved girls and young women in marginalized communities who cannot afford these essential monthly products.
Each pack of sanitary pad would serve a girl for a whole year. The community was excited and it is a desire to assist teenage girls across communities every year.
