443 Million School Days are Lost Each Year

By Kristen Steele | Project Leader

443 million school days are lost each year due to water-related illness.

You can change this.

You already did change this for over 1,000 people in Taek Village in Siem Reap, Cambodia through the installation of an AquaTower and Planet Water’s hygiene education program at Taek Primary School.

Here is how school Headmaster talks about the impact that having clean water and hygiene education has made in his school, “My school had no clean water, I tried to make aware of unsafe water to the students, and some bring boiled water to school. The students faced waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid… and spent a lot of money for caring. Now we have clean water system in the school, my students drink clean water and our school attendance improved and the tower is our school hand washing station so students wash their hands before they go into their class rooms.”

For the children at Taek Primary School, having access to clean, safe water for the first time means hope for a healthy future.

Thank you - YOU have made a difference in the lives of those in need. Please continue to give the gift of water – and spread the word – because together, we can continue to abolish water poverty…one community at a time!
