Consistent therapy and proper nutrition

By Kenneth Apopa | CEO

Dear Friend,

Children with disabilities in Mathare face significant challenges in accessing therapy and proper nutrition. The Clean Plate Nutrition and Therapy Project is addressing this gap by providing free occupational and speech therapy services and monthly dried food parcels to improve their overall well-being.

Key Achievements

  1. Therapy Services Provided – Over 150 children received occupational and speech therapy this quarter, helping them develop communication skills, mobility, and independence.
  2. Nutrition Support – Families received nutritious dried food parcels, ensuring children have access to balanced meals to support their growth and therapy progress.
  3. Caregiver Training – Parents and caregivers attended workshops on home-based therapy techniques and nutrition to sustain their children’s development beyond our sessions.

Impact

For children with disabilities, consistent therapy and proper nutrition are life-changing. Since starting therapy, some children have shown improved speech, motor skills, and social interactions. Caregivers have also reported better health and increased engagement from their children.

Challenges & Future Plans

The demand for therapy services continues to grow, but limited space and resources remain a challenge. We aim to expand therapy sessions and increase outreach to more families in need.

Thanks to your generosity, children with disabilities in Mathare are receiving the care and nutrition they deserve. We appreciate your continued commitment to this cause!
