SMPD distributed water purification (chlorine) tablets to 55 community members in Mirpurkhas, Sindh, alongside a medical camp and awareness sessions on waterborne diseases. The activity aimed to promote access to safe drinking water and reduce the risk of illnesses caused by contaminated water. During the awareness sessions, community members were educated about common waterborne diseases, their causes, symptoms, and preventive measures, including the importance of treating drinking water, maintaining proper hygiene, washing hands, and storing water in clean, covered containers. The distribution of chlorine tablets was accompanied by guidance on their safe and correct use, following the product instructions. The medical camp provided an opportunity for community members to seek medical consultation and receive health-related guidance. Through this integrated intervention, SMPD aimed to strengthen community awareness of preventive healthcare, encourage safe drinking water and hygiene practices, and contribute to improved health and well-being among vulnerable communities in Mirpurkhas.
