Clean Drinking Water Access

By Parkash Peter | Head of Operations and Internal Controls

The Society for Minors’ Protection and Development (SMPD) is sincerely grateful for the trust and support our community and well-wishers continue to show. Your encouragement strengthens our mission to serve vulnerable families and respond to their needs with compassion and dignity.

Access to clean drinking water remains one of the most urgent challenges in rural Sindh. Many families—especially women and children—still walk long distances to fetch water from contaminated sources. This leads to serious health issues, and often prevents children, particularly girls, from attending school because collecting water becomes their daily responsibility.

We are pleased to share that SMPD has successfully installed 2 hand pumps in two underserved villages.
These hand pumps are now providing:

  • Safe and clean drinking water for families

  • Reduced health risks from contaminated water

  • More time for children to return to school instead of fetching water

  • Relief and dignity for women by reducing physical strain

  • A stronger and healthier community environment

These hand pumps are community-managed, ensuring long-term care and sustainability.

There are still many communities waiting for access to clean water.
Even a small contribution can help install another hand pump and transform lives.

Your support:

  • Protects children’s health

  • Empowers women

  • Encourages education

  • Strengthens entire communities

We deeply appreciate your kindness and partnership.
Together, we are changing lives one village, one hand pump, many families at a time.

Thank you for standing with us.
