Thank you for your continued support of the Claudia Booker Memorial Scholarship Fund. Your donations make it possible to increase access to midwifery education access the populations who are suffering the highest rates of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity around childbirth in America-- African American/Black and American Indian and Alaska Natives. We are delighted to introduce you to another recipient who is currently enrolled in our program.
Chanté is in her third year of our program and demonstrates a commitment to excellence in her studies. As a student, she has volunteered on our Student Participation Volunteer Team which provides valuable input about the content and structure of our program, and has made herself available to mentor others. In addition to being a homeschooling mother of young children and a successful midwifery student herself, she works for Evidence Based Birth as the Program Team Manager. In her local community, she serves as a doula, and childbirth educator, and also works in birth and maternity advocacy.
We are thankful that Chanté is in our program because we believe that she is, and will continue to be a powerful agent of change for the good in maternity care. Your generosity makes it possible for us to provide the Claudia Booker Scholarship to future midwives like Chanté who will improve outcomes for the mothers, babies, and families who are most at risk. Thank you for giving!
