Progress so far

A 5 stances drainable latrine is on completion stages now soon to be used by the learns as schools reopen, there is still a need to add one latrine for teacher who have been sharing with the learner the same latrine!

This is just a rountine update on the works goin on, we hope to give another up date soon.

As schools reopen we still run to kind people like you!, without you we can not make it alone, we must ensure all students return to the classroom and are given an equal opportunity to learn.

This means reaching the most vulnerable, including the 1-in-5 children globally who were already out of school before COVID-19.

For every child, an education.

As schools are reopening, Acomai Primary School a public school is lacking classrooms to accommodate and provide conducive learning environment to these rural students.

Would you mind foregoing one dinner, a cup of coffee to give this school a classroom block? If yes click here

Following the previous meeting, the school management, parent and teachers association contriuted about $920 for the bricks; how ever the challenging part is the soil texture of the site that desires alot of gravels and iron bars to set up the foundation, this has increased the budget by 12%. The District and Sub county will provide technical support like monitoring and supervision from the district engineer office. The fund collected through this crowdfunding has been held in a community account unit.

The VIP latrine is now on completion level we shall yet post the photos here by soon to show the uilding progress. and also attach the MoU with the district as per the development of the school

Through very generous donations through GlobalGiving we shall be able to begin theconstruction of the classroom block - the Latrine construction was started yet to be complmented. The floods in the place have halted construction when the land dries we shall surely resume the construction and laying of the foundation of the classroom block

Help us to help make the poorest of the poor to the best educated of all!!! We are all making the difference between lives in the wicked wheel of poverty - and the glorious freedom of choice for children who would never be able to make choices without a solid basis of health, education, and welfare!!!

Your donations - large or small - are so very appreciated.

Thank you  so much, #StaySafe in this #COVID-19 period ,be filled with love, light, friends, and family!

After SCOEN meeting  in March 2020 with the community chaired by the Senior Account Assistant that resolved parents contribute locally available materials i.e. bricks, rock and marvels, sand and SCOEN provides transport cost and other materials with skilled labour.

We are grateful to suppoters for their generosity towads this project as we look forward to install a classroom block and VIP latrine to Acomai Primary School in Bukedea.

How ever the flood s have cut off the access to the site all roads are not fixed we therefore waiting for the the flood to reduce and begin trasporting the materaisl to the site for the classroom block.

Of recent the locals in Kamutur Sub-county in Bukedea district have accused the district authorities of failing to fix the road. The 12-kilometre road connecting the sub-county to the rest of the district has historically been destroyed and never been fixed for the last 15 years. More Information

We 100% acknowledge your financial support. Please know how much you've helped the children and the teachers in this rural primary school and how much we all appreciate it. Again, thank you for all you have done to our organisation and our beneficiaries.

Schools, particularly those in rural areas, often completely lack drinking-water and sanitation and hand washing facilities; alternatively, where such facilities do exist they are often inadequate in both quality and quantity. Schools with poor water, sanitation and hygiene conditions, and intense levels of person-to-person contact, are high-risk environments for children and staff, and exacerbate children’s particular susceptibility to environmental health hazards.

Girls and boys are likely to be affected in different ways by inadequate water, sanitation and

hygiene conditions in schools, and this may contribute to unequal learning opportunities. Sometimes, girls and female teachers are more affected than boys because the lack of sanitary facilities means that they cannot attend school during menstruation.

Through very generous donations through GlobalGiving we shall be able to begin theconstruction of the classroom block - the Latrine construction was started yet to be complmented. The floods in the place have halted construction when the land dries we shall surely resume the construction and laying of the foundation of the classroom block
