Since we started, we have brought quality arts and play to half a million children living through crisis. Help us bring our our trauma-informed, magical music, arts and play sessions to thousands more children in refugee camps, hospices, hospitals across Europe and the Middle East, where children are living scared, traumatised & missing out on their right to play. We help improve their skills and wellbeing, making sure they can access moments of childhood, happiness, respect and positivity.
Between 2010 & 2023, the global number of children displaced due to crisis rose from 18.8 to 47.2 million (UNICEF). Refugee camps, developed as temporary responses, become long term homes for families & children, with average time documented to be 17 years. Displacement has negative consequences for children's mental-health & wellbeing. Often facing human loss, children also face loss of identity, hope & ability to engage in cultural & recreational activities.
Through clowning, magic, games, & art, we bring laughter, joy, & positive human connection to people in crisis. We carry out detailed needs assessments around the globe and travel to the most remote, challenging places where people are forgotten and childhoods are lost. We expertly respond to the crisis and issues that different groups of people are facing: abandonment, war, poverty, disability, displacement and abuse; our trauma informed sessions respond directly, bringing hope and happiness.
Our sessions are shown to improve mood, relationships & skills & help children process difficult challenges & social contexts. Long-term impact through shared, positive experiences includes improved mental health & psychosocial, cognitive & emotional wellbeing. Play develops essential life-skills like confidence, resilience & interaction plus increased activity & physical skills like agility, co-ordination and balance. Families benefit from improved trust, respect, pride & relationships.
