This project will provide essential household food assistance, basic health screening and consultation, and an inclusive festive experience to 200 persons with disabilities in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in collaboration with JONAPWD. The project responds to food insecurity, limited access to basic healthcare, and social exclusion, helping vulnerable people experience greater dignity, care, participation and belonging through practical support, accessible delivery, and accountable follow-up.
In Ogun State, rising food costs and economic hardship are putting vulnerable households under growing pressure to meet basic needs. For persons with disabilities, limited access to healthcare and inclusive community support can deepen isolation and vulnerability. During the festive season, these challenges can mean going without nutritious food, essential health support and the dignity of celebrating as part of the community. We will provide essential food assistance to vulnerable households, alongside basic health screening, consultations and targeted health-support kits for persons with disabilities. An inclusive festive experience will promote dignity, participation and belonging, while verified registration, distribution records and follow-up will ensure support reaches those most in need and strengthen accountability.
Immediate outcome:200 persons with disabilities receive essential food assistance; up to 200 access basic health screening and consultation; 30 beneficiaries receive targeted health-support kits and participate in an inclusive festive experience. Medium to Long-term: improved food security and wellbeing, greater access to basic health support, reduced social isolation, and stronger dignity and participation. Continued collaboration with disability-led organisations will help strengthen inclusion
