Dear GlobalGiving,
Thank you for providing a platform for our Airline Ambassadors International fundraiser for Abatex in the Philippines. We raised approximately $2,500 for the children of this impoverished village, and most of all, provided hope.
Thanks to AAI, ESPECIALLY our donors, and Rizaline Pascual, the director of Jesus Our Great Shepherd Church, for making our Christmas wish come true!
Rizaline organized members of her church and provided a successful Christmas party for the children of Abatex. Volunteers first had to improve the muddy path leading up the dumpsite to the feeding shelter to make this happen. Everyone who has attended AAI mission trips to Abatex understands what a daunting task this can be!
Rizaline organized a wonderful Christmas party for children. There were decorations, music and dancing. The children enjoyed a meal and food items were provided for the families. The children also received a Christmas gift and a new outfit. Any remaining funds have been allocated for clean drinking water for the Abatex community for 2021.
Our ultimate goal, through Jesus Our Great Shepherd Church and AAI, is to have the regular lunch program reinstated at Abatex. When the pandemic subsides, AA will return to Abatex, under the leadership of Cheryl Robinson, and work toward making this goal a reality!
With sincere thanks and gratitude,
Christine Page, AAI Volunteer
