This project will provide "Canastas Navidenas" (Christmas Baskets) to 70-75 underprivileged families in the rural town of El Caimito, Dominican Republic. Each basket contains all the essential ingredients for a traditional Christmas dinner, allowing families facing hardship to celebrate the holiday season with dignity, warmth, and joy.
The primary problem the project addresses is that many underprivileged families in the rural town of El Caimito, La Vega, in the Dominican Republic cannot afford a traditional Christmas dinner due to poverty. For these families, the holiday season becomes a time of financial strain, where the struggle for basic necessities "overshadows joy". The project directly intervenes to ensure these families do not go without a holiday meal.
