This unique program series utilizes state-of-the-art technology & industry experts to provide a hands-on educational experience, in a nurturing environment, to at-risk youth in South Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles today, kids In public school have limited access to after-school programs and oftentimes no options for structured summer programs. Many of these students, especially in South LA, haven't had formal music or arts education, and definitely don't have access to the latest technology, or get to participate in many educational field trips. Additionally, they don't get exposure to what's behind-the-scenes of the music they hear, the TV they watch, and the video games they play.
Choice Group's new program series provides kids access to the latest Apple Computers, equipped with the latest software in music production and gaming design, along with instruction from industry professionals. Like all Choice Group programs, students will have outlets for creative expression and, through unique field trips, have exposure to the professional world behind-the-scenes of music and video game development. These after-school and summer programs in South LA are provided free of cost.
South Los Angeles' at-risk youth will have experienced a safe, structured, and educational oasis after-school hours and during the summer months. Their participation in a music and arts program that emphasizes education, discipline and structure, will prepare them to be well-rounded, responsible, and productive adults. Exposure to the inner workings of the entertainment industry all around them will also help these students explore career options therein.
