Dear Supporter,

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to empower young Chitrali girls through sports and your contributions to Chitral Women's Sports Club. Over the past year, there have been numerous successes within the sports club.

Being a group led by a woman and having women as the majority of the team and volunteers provides a safe space for girls participating in the activities of Chitral Women's Sports Club (CWSC). In this nurturing environment, girls have been able to develop their social and sports skills. CWSC work always involves activities related to health and education along with sports as all these elements are needed for girls to achieve their goals.

One of the organisation's biggest successes is that five young girls from the club have been admitted into a local college based on their sports/athletic abilities and achievements. This success is coupled with a lot of supportive and positive comments which makes a huge difference to the girls' confidence.

Thank you for your continued support, your contributions really help to provide Chitral Women's Sports Club with the means to keep implementing the impactful work they do.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to empower young Chitrali girls through sports and your contributions to Chitral Women's Sports Club.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our traning programmes for coaches had to be rescheduled for the end of 2021. The ever changing situation continues to affect programme implementation but we continuously look for ways to keep girls engaged in one way or the other.

If the situation eases down, we will host a tournament in Chitral where both boys and girls will participate. We believe it is important for boys to participate in activities with girls so that they learn to respect and treat girls and women as equals.

Separately, suicide rates have dramatically increased in Chitral. Therefore, we have started a collaboration with humanitarian optimism psychosocial education to conduct therapy sessions for local women and girls.

Our work with Al Zahra Polestar School Chitral continues. Now, sports is not only part of their curriculum but they actively try to engage more children in their programmes.

Our top priority is the health of the girls and young women we serve. Thank you for standing up with Chitral Womens Sports Club in these difficult times. Together, we stand for a more inclusive society.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you very much for your kind support and for believing in Chitral Women's Sports Club mission to empower young Chitrali girls through sports.

Our plans for coaches training program had to delay further towards the end of 2021 because of the rising COVID-19 cases. Currently we might face another lockdown because of the fast spread of delta variant. Our top most priority is the health of everyone around us.

We are hoping that with the ease of COVID-19 around September, we can organise a tournament for local games of Chitral. We want to involve both boys and girls in this to make it more inclusive. We believe it is important for boys to participate in games with girls to realize that women too can excel in sports, to respect them and take them as their equals. At the same time in collaboration with humanitarian optimism psychosocial education we plan to conduct therapy sessions for local women and girls because it is becoming increasingly important with the rise of the suicide rate in Chitral.

Our work with Al Zahra Polestar School Chitral continues as we sponsor their sports goods. We spoke to the owner of the school to make sports not just a part of their curriculum but to actually practically work to get their students involved in sports.

Thank you for standing up with Chitral Womens Sports Club in fighting for a more inclusive society.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you very much for your kind support and for believing in Chitral Women’s Sports Club mission to empower young Chitrali girls through sports.

In 2020, because of COVID, we could not carry out our activities the way we do every year.

The past year as you know has been stressful for everyone around the world. It has been even more stressful for the vulnerable community which also includes girls from underprivileged backgrounds. In Chitral, boys find ways to be part of outdoor activities but it was not the same for girls. Schools were closed which meant staying home and doing chores for girls.

On September 4, we organised a one-day cricket tournament for girls. The aim for the activity was to get girls back on the field and to have some happy time. We had 5 teams and played 8 matches.

We then went on to organise a football exchange program between 23rd to 29th January 2021. The activities included a football camp under the supervision of expert coaches that have experience in harnessing the talent in young girls during the week long activities to aid progressive training. 37 girls including 5 officials travelled from Chitral to Islamabad during the exchange program. We saw tremendous change within the girls by the end of the football exchange program.

For our next project, we want to focus on the local coaches. We want to organise training for coaches. We are negotiating with schools on putting emphasis on sports. Along with that, in 2021 we plan to organise a football, volleyball and a cricket camp along with tournaments.

Thank you for standing up with Chitral Women’s Sports Club in fighting for a more inclusive society.
