Chip in to fight Covid-19

In the wake of the SARS CoV-2 pandemic, Asociatia Rotary Probitas Craiova stands ready to respond to the extraordinary needs that this crisis is generating. The humanitarian community has a huge part to play and Asociatia Rotary Probitas Craiova is trying to respond to rapidly escalating humanitarian needs through programmes that we have designed together with fellow entities willing to step in and help.

Despite all changes and unique circumstances that have occurred this year, we are very proud to share our sustained work for the community. As we are doing our best to navigate during this pandemic, we wanted to shed some light on the position that we are currently in and on the concrete actions that we have taken.

The donations we have received so far were used to equip a Covid-19 laboratory in Craiova, supporting thus the Local Emergency Hospital in its efforts to fight pandemic. Up to date, we have already served over 12,000 patients from all parts of Oltenia region with Covid-19 tests. The results of such tests are the key to all treatment that these patients might receive, as it is fundamental to diagnose the disease in its early stages.

Apart from using the laboratory to perform the tests, with the money raised we purchased and donated to local authorities Covid-19 test kits for a number of 2,250 people.

At the very beginning of the pandemic, we managed to put in function 12 ventilators in the Intensive Care Unit of Craiova Hospital, vital for Covid-19 patients.

Equally important, we continue our commitment to donors. We promise to continue to raise new projets to respond to the needs of our local community. We are making all efforts to attract more donations and to support more people in need.

During this time of great uncertainty we have been comforted, encouraged, and humbled by the outpouring of generosity and support from our community. People, organizations, community groups, small businesses and corporations have all stepped up to support front-line health care workers, and patients with donations of personal protective equipment, hand-sewn masks, monetary gifts, and more.

Our younger colleagues from Rotaract Craiova Probitas have manufactured face shields for doctors, nurses and other front-line workers. 

We are thrilled to have you as part of our fantastic network! We are truly thankful for every donation and have confidence that after this bump in the road we will be able to continue as usual. On behalf of each and every recipient, thank you for your support during these unprecedented times.
