Summary
Children as Human Rights Defenders is designed and delivered with children for children across Puducherry and its surrounds. This program explores children’s views on what rights they feel need to be defended and what support is required from adults to ensure children can be both empowered and protected in their role as human rights defenders.
Challenge
The children whose parents are not literate and poor may not have good access to quality education as their parents are unable to afford. These children are not raised well and they do not know their rights. Sometimes the children are forced to discontinue their studies and to take up employment to support their families and thereby losing their opportunity to have education and there are chances that they could pick you bad habits easily.
Solution
By implementing this program, the children will acquire leadership qualities, personality development. The children will be motivated to continue their education which is the ultimate objective. The children are taught their rights, Indian political system, environment. The child will get an holistic development
Long-Term Impact
The long term impact of this program would be to create a potential society who will be assets of our nation.
