                                                    DIWALI CELEBRATIONS – 2022

After the grand celebrations of Dussehra, the country waits with bated breath for yet another and perhaps even glossier, splashier, and more gratifying festival, the one that marks different mythological and historical events-Diwali. From welcoming Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman to Ayodhya from exile of 14 years to honoring Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune and prosperity, the reasons may vary but the fondness, adoration, and frenzy are distinctly palpable across India and many other nations. As the thrilling wait nears an end, here are a few facts about Diwali that will stir up your fervor and enhance your jubilation.

On Saturday, 22nd October 2022, we had Diwali Celebrations at Jananai Home for Girls. The local community, staff members, students for Bachelor’s degree from Idhaya Ars and Science College for Women, Puducherry, and children from Janani Home took an active part. Vel Mobile Dental Clinic was our main sponsor for this event.

The children demonstrated their dancing skills and the interns taught good habits to the children through a skit. The Doctors from the VEL Mobile Dental Clinic taught the children about oral hygiene. Vel Mobile Clinic distributed Gift hampers to the children and staff members followed by fireworks and lunch.

Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navratri festival (Nine nights), a Hindu festival that is traditionally celebrated in India. It may be translated to “worship of Instruments”. On the tenth day of the Dasara festival, weapons and tools are worshipped. The Puja is considered a meaningful custom, which focuses specific attention on one’s profession and its related tools and connotes that a divine force is working behind it to perform well and for getting the proper reward.

On 03.10.2022 Monday Ayudha Puja was celebrated by the staff of Prime Trust at Sishubhavan (Muthialpet), Janani home(Colas Nagar) and Prime trust office (Rainbow Nagar). In all three places puja’s were done by lighting the lamp, offering aarti, flowers, sweet Pongal and chickpeas to the deity. The participants were given sweet Pongal and chickpeas.

A special program was organized in Prime Trust. It started with the prayer song and continued with a welcome speech. The Prime Trust Founder and Chairman Mr S.M.
