Many children with cancer in Chile like Antonio recieve care at Fundacion Nuestros Hijos. When Antonio arrived at the Foundation he could not walk or talk, but thanks to the comprehensive therapies, today he walks, talks, studies and performs a number of activities independently, many of which, until not long ago, were unthinkable.
Eighty percent of children and adolescents with cancer in Chile have some kind of physical or cognitive sequelae (source PINDA www.pindachile.cl/), either as a direct consequence of the cancer or as a result of the treatments.
Since 2016, Fundacion Nuestros Hijos has maintained the first Oncology Rehabilitation Center in South America to help patients overcome or minimize the sequelae.
Children with cancer will be able to reintegrate into society and see their future with more hope.
