Sele Enat Mahiber (SEM) provides a home full of love and support for orphans and vulnerable children in Addis Ababa. Wherever possible, they facilitate the placement of children with host families in the community and support prospective families with adoption, both in Ethiopia and abroad. A registered non-profit, SEM relies on charitable donations to provide the kids who live with them--ranging from newborn to 18 years old--with the daily care, love, and education that all children deserve.
SEM currently cares for 68 children, including 10 with special needs. SEM ensures these children's needs are met on a daily basis, including food, medicine, hygiene, clothing, education, emotional support, and so much more. A committed team of staff, volunteers, and experienced caretakers work around the clock to ensure that the children in the home are loved and cared for. These expenses add up, and it is an on-going effort to provide these children with the materials and support they need.
Children deserve to be happy, healthy, protected, and loved. They should be held when they cry and fed when they are hungry. They need medical care when they are sick, an education and continuous encouragement as they grow. With your help, SEM will continue to provide children in their care with the daily necessities and developmental opportunities that every child deserves. Your donation will help ensure that these children live in a safe, clean, healthy, and supportive environment.
SEM ensures that every child who lives with them is loved and cared for. They provide children with a healthy and strong foundation from which they can learn, grow, and succeed in life. They do their best to find permanent homes and families for the children. For those who remain with them, SEM staff, volunteers, and friends provide a robust community of support. Your help will directly impact the lives of the children at SEM by giving them a better chance at a brighter future.
