Thank you for supporting the children!
Horse-assisted therapy session in Argentina
Thank you so much for supporting the children and young people at our projects through our page on GlobalGiving. Your help is making such a difference in their lives.
A special thank you to all who contributed, or shared our page, during GlobalGiving's recent "Little By Little" campaign. We are so grateful to know there are caring people around the world. People contributed from Australia, England, Scotland, South Africa and the USA! We are thankful for your kindness!
Below are some updates on how your donations have been helping the children and young people.
Food Programmes in Romania and South Africa
Refugiu in Romania regularly gives food supplies to families in a village. As the price of food has risen, we have had to raise more funds to provide the same amount of food. We are very grateful to all who make it possible to continue to help with this provision of food to the families and children.
Robert, the Head of Refugiu, has said that this assistance is a big help for the families.
The Future Factory, in South Africa, has been involved with supplying meals to children and families since the first lockdown of the pandemic. It was envisaged to be a short-term project, in response to the emergency conditions of the pandemic and lockdowns. However, with all the economic issues and rises in prices, the need for assistance with food is now greater than ever. This programme is continuing. Thank you to all who are helping the children with this vital need.
Anne, the founder of The Future Factory, said that they are grateful for "your assistance and support as it's very tough currently... whole schools are struggling as many children don't have enough. This is beside the community [food programmes]." Anne also mentioned that the high unemployment rate contributed to all the difficulties, leaving families struggling to provide food for their children.
Support for a child with disabilities in Argentina
Some of your donations went towards sponsoring horse-assisted therapy sessions for a little girl with spastic quadraplegia in Argentina. The sessions are run by the organisation, Fundación Cordobesa de Equinoterapia, which helps people with a range of disabilities. This sort of therapy is highly beneficial for the children's physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
On hearing that we would be able to continue to sponsor sessions for a child in 2023, the project's founder, Verónica wrote [as translated into English from Spanish]: "What a joy! It is wonderful, all the effort that you have made to help us! Thank you, thank you!".
The school year in Argentina started in March and the therapy sessions have been going very well! Thank you to all who made it possible to support this project!
We are so honoured to know such great people around the globe who want to make a difference for the children. Thank you so much for being part of our projects and for helping to meet the needs of the children and young people. You are truly making such a positive impact in the world!
