No child that we move off the street should ever be forced to return to the abuse & hopelessness that is their life on the street. Lynn & her team in Ethiopia provide children with the emotional, physical, educational, and economic tools to facilitate their transition back into their family, yet some cannot be safely reintegrated. For these children, we provide safe & nurturing long-term foster. Currently, funding is needed to expand our foster care program for an additional 20 children.
For some children a safe return to their family is not possible due to the high probability of abuse or neglect. Recruiting and training foster families is challenging as is the monthly monitoring of a child placed into a foster family, but both are absolutely necessary. This is needed to ensure a safe environment which provides the opportunity for the child to thrive. Without a strong and well-funded foster program, we are left with only one option; allowing the child to return to the street.
