Livestock for Orphaned Children in Congo

Our partner recently visited Matthew and his guardian, Josephine, to check on their progress.  Josephine was overwhelmed with emotion as she said, "God is great.  I did not know that one day I would be supported by a project to satisfy my family, but when Matthew was selected for the AFCA project, I thanked God for granting me this blessing."

The family has produced many different types of vegetables and credits the training by the project director with their success.  Matthew and his family are able to eat their crops, sell some and also keep the seeds.

Josephine continues to report that they were given three guinea pigs, one male and two females.  She said they managed to master the breeding, and they expect to reimburse the project within the next several weeks.  This is a huge accomplishment for this family and Josephine is proud!

Matthew was not able to attend school, but the project has been life changing in this way too.  With the income from the crops, they are able to purchase school supplies and clothing.  Please know that your generosity is truly making a difference in Matthew's life, and many others in our program.  With our partners on the ground, the children and their families receive the support and monitoring they need to make this a very successful project.  We are changing lives day after day.  Matthew and Josephine feel your love, and so do we at the American Foundation for Children with AIDS.
