9 out of 10 Filipino children aged 10 cannot read or understand simple text, according to the World Bank's 2022 data on learning poverty. This "lost generation" has been deprived of education for 3.5 years due to the pandemic and a devastating super typhoon. Kids Club is dedicated to changing this by providing a safe haven, proper nutrition, and tailored educational support to over 300 children, helping them reclaim their lost opportunities and build a brighter future.
The prolonged school closures due to the pandemic and the devastation caused by a super typhoon have left many children in Siargao unable to read or write. These children have lost valuable years of education, leading to severe setbacks in their learning and development. The lack of access to education has created a crisis, leaving a generation of children struggling to catch up and achieve their potential.
Kids Club provides a comprehensive educational program tailored to the needs of each child. Through one-on-one tutoring, group activities, and a nurturing environment, we help children develop literacy skills, build self-confidence, and foster a love for learning. Operating six days a week, Kids Club offers continuous support, enabling children to overcome their educational setbacks and thrive academically and socially.
Kids Club aims to break the cycle of educational deprivation by providing continuous, personalized support to children in need. By improving literacy and social skills, our program prepares children for a brighter future. In the long term, this will lead to higher educational attainment, better job opportunities, and a more resilient community. Your support will help us give these children the chance to succeed and transform their lives.
