Our current flagship program "Bridge to Independence" is a program which strives to promote workforce integration among youth-at-risk who graduate from Residential Group Homes and Foster Care and have no family backing when the reach the age of 18 – providing a silver lining of hope for a better future.
The program prepares its participants for workforce integration by focusing on the development of skills, abilities and relevant experience needed to integrate into long-term, stable employment opportunities.
Aligned with this system, “Yeladim” operates a writing workshop for the participants named: “Word Between the lines”, lead by the talented and amazing singer Song writer Ms. Sivan Talmor. For the past 6 months, 8 participants from the program gathered with Sivan, working, learning and practicing the skills of song writing and composition.
An important aspect of this workshop is the therapeutic effect which comes along with exposing and expressing the participates' feelings and hidden emotions.
The highlight of each workshop is a final performance at The “Plug In” Club,
in Tel Aviv; Each and every participant had a chance to present his work and by that tasting of what it's like to be an independent performer.
This year we plan to have two workshops for 12-16 new participants and to increase the number of the graduates who would like to take place in this unique experience.
Outstanding performers are receiving scholarship grant for academic music studies, sponsored by “Yeladim- Fair Chance for Children”.
Attached link to a short clip about two participants, who have received our music scholarship and are telling about the change the music brought to their lives:
