This project will help 196 children living and working in the street of Mwanza to go back home and live with their safe families and help and help 260 children roaming in the street during day time to stay home with their families.
There are currently more than 400 children living and working in the streets of Mwanza; among them more than 200 children are 24 hours in the streets and more than 200 are 12 hours in the streets of Mwanza. These children are risks of child abuse, starvation, diseases and trafficking! This project will protect 126 children living and working in the street by sending them back to their safe families.
UPENDO DAIMA provides nutritious food, medical care, counselling and reunification for children living and working in the streets of Mwanza. The communities (mothers and fathers) are trained how to protect their children at their family level and not leaving them to run into the streets of Mwanza City. The mothers and fathers at child protection and safeguarding clinics are also taught to share their new knowledge with their neighbors and new couples.
The project will reunify 126 children to their safe families and will educate 320 parents (Mothers and fathers) allowing them to protect their children and their neighbors children from running to the streets of Mwanza; which will help their children to stay home safely.
