150 Child Mobility Carts for most in need

More Shipments in 2011

On March 2, 2011 we sent 29 child size PETs to Papua New Guinea, Tonga and Micronesia to be distributed by our long time mobility partner. This is the first shipment of PETs to these countries. The US Navy's Project Handclasp is handling the shipping free of charge. On April 18 we sent 14 child size PETs to our partner in South Dakota. They will add to their refurbished mobility devices and distribute in Guatemala.

Children in Haiti receive PETs

While we were experiencing our first Open Challenge in December 2010, we received the second report and pictures. We sent over 30 PETs including some child size to NW Haiti Christian Mission in KY. They shipped them to this orphanage in Haiti after the earthquake of Jan. 2010. The Home's director sent a report after the shipment arrived. Later we received a report with these pictures from a volunteer who went to help and ended up assembling PETs.

June 2010 "I am working on a couple stories and pictures to send to you guys but I wanted to let you know what a HUGE blessing these PET Carts are and I love seeing the children I work with have mobility that they never have had before. I have a couple teenage boys that live in the Miriam Home Orphanage that will never be able to regain mobility like some of their "brothers" and "sisters" are through braces and such due to the severity of their legs and the PET carts allow them freedom. Thank you! I am gearing up to fit some of my outreach children with the pull carts in the weeks to come. They are easy to put together and a HUGE blessing- so thank you again!!!!

December 2010 "Our church went to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (base in KY)... We were there for a week doing pretty much anything we could. Some of the PETs were in need of repair, and some were not built yet, so we started in on getting them working. It is an orphanage, and I believe there are 20-25 kids there, some totally immobile, some very mobile, but mentally disabled, most a mix of physical and mental - not sure what all the disabilities are.” Photos courtesy of Richard Brust of California
