Dear Esteemed Patrons,
Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) – India!
HEARDS is trying to achieve every year to reduce the exploitation and promote the rights of the working children. Here are few activities which we implementing during this reporting period:
Books and Note books supplied:
To motivate the children and to give them the feeling of the schooling, note books (copies), a medium size school bag and necessary stationeries such as pencils, rubber, sharpener, writing pads and a fancy pen are given. As per the need copiers are supplied again and again at least thrice in a year. The distribution of books, note books and school bags attract the children to be in school regularly and gives a feeling that they are not deprived of learning materials to continue their schooling. All the identified children who attend the center were given all the required assistance. Teachers use teaching manuals, text books and Guides for their use.
Mid-day Meal for children:
By the generous help of our esteemed donors, all the children who attend the school are given mid-day meal between 12.30 -1.30 p.m. A weekly schedule of menu was made available accordingly, lunch was provided. It was being cooked every day and served to all the children coming to the school. This activity ensures that the children will never be mal nutritious again. This is the only nutritious meal they are having for the entire day.
Preparing our children to get mainstreamed to Government Schools:
One of the greatest achievements of the project is that we keep on mainstreaming at least 40-50 children every year, who were once just school dropouts, have rejoined the mainstream regular school after completion of appropriate Government examinations. This was possible for them because of the HEARDS Child Labor rehabilitation center. Similarly, this happens not only in the end of the year but it also happens in the middle of the year as the child gets adopted to the educational stream by way of reading and writing easily and if he can cope up with the regular school going children than we normally mainstream the child in the Government school even in the middle of the year. Apart from that our Animators keep track of the children who got mainstreamed to the regular Government schools and the teachers and Headmasters are very happy about our children as they are far better than the regular school going children. Thus the dream of HEARDS and the donors of GlobalGiving childhood bridge into future is being realized.
As the educational academic year is going to start in the month of June HEARDS is planning to mainstream more number of children into the Government schools.
All this achievements are happened because of donors like you and therefore we request you to kindly support us continuously so that we can dream of a better tomorrow in the future. It not only regains the lost childhood but also we are making children better future citizens.
Hoping for your continuous valuable support I remain.
Thanking you,
With best wishes and fond regards,
Kuriyakose Sajan
