Dear Esteemed Patrons,

Greetings to you from HEARDS!

Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) with the support of your valuable contribution in its unique intervention with working children and dropout journeys with different activities which would enable and enhance the life of the working children throughout the year.  Working with the targeted children gives satisfied inner feelings and derives happiness among the HEARDS team to work with dedication. The growth of the children, regular attendance and the high performance in the educational standards in the centre are the real witnesses and the evidences for the activities that are facilitated by HEARDS.  The children admit that they benefit a lot to excel in their education through the rehabilitation centers run by HEARDS.

All the children who are withdrawn from full time child labor has been fully withdrawn and has been provided quality education through easy based learning methodologies  and we were able to provide good nutritious food for the children.  All the children were also provide free bag, slates, note books, copywriting books, pen, pencils and other stationery items.   During this year we were expecting to mainstream another 20-25 children into the regular Government schools. The great impact among the project is that we were successfully able to convince the working children to prevent from working and able to take them back to our rehabilitation centers.

Handling Computer was very far away for the working children. This was introduced in the earlier years on a test run and we find an enormous difference happened among the children and the children have shown great interest in learning computers.  We have also made some computer based tutorial for these children which were taught on with daily lessons by the teachers.  Now there are 6 computers which could be in use for the children who learn computer.  Children were taught following lessons theoretically and practically by the professional tutors following a systematic syllabus.

Demo in handling computer, usage of its various parts, working in computer based tutorial, working in MS Excel, Basics of operating computer, creating power point presentation and Math formulae calculations in Excel were well covered by the teachers.

Feedback from the Teachers:

1. Children are very enthusiastic in learning the computer

2. Children could be given some awareness camps regarding the course

3. Providing training materials will make them attend the course regularly

4. Children could be divided into groups based on their regular attendance.

We at HEARDS are committed to support poor children by preventing them from falling prey to Child Labour. Let us join hands on this to support these downtrodden children.  The financial support which you have extended has helped many children to fulfill their dreams and also it helped their parents to realize the importance of education.  I request you to kindly extend the same support in future also.

Thanking you,

With best wishes and fond regards,

Kuriyakose Sajan
