Dear Partners of HEARDS,
Happy Mothers Day from HEARDS Team - India!
A child deserves to learn and not to earn. Without education, there is no hope. At HEARDS we have taken a pledge to fight against the evil practice of child labor. HEARDS would like to thank you for patronizing our education activities with your continuous support towards our program. The objective of our child labor rehabilitation center is to reach marginalized children at the age of 6-14 who do not have access to formal schools through a set of innovative outreach programs.
The following are the major objectives of this project (1) To eradicate/phase-out child labor in the Chittoor District (2) To provide education facilities for the rescued child laborers. (3) Preparing the children with the necessary educational competencies and capabilities for mainstreaming them into the Government schools. (4) Another endeavor is to provide nutrition to the children and to protect them from child labor.
National Science Day is celebrated every year on February 28, the day when CV Raman discovered the Raman Effect, a phenomenon in spectroscopy. CV Raman discovered the Raman Effect in 1928 while working in the laboratory of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, which helped him in winning the prestigious Nobel Prize in 1930. The theme for the National Science Day 2022 celebration is “Future of Science, Technology, and Innovation: Impacts on Education, Skills, and Work”. This is a celebration for kids by conducting science model exhibitions.
The project is conducting monthly parent/guardian-teacher meetings in HEARDS Rehabilitation school where it is in operation. Through these meetings, we encourage the parents to emphasize on the importance of education and especially on the girl's education, and send them regularly to the school. Moreover, we also mobilize the parents to send them for higher education, once they finish their studies at our school.
Thanking you for your continuous support and wishing you to continue the same.
With fond regards,
Mr.Kuriyakose Sajan.
