Community Outreach
Social workers at Diiro Child care Foundation continue to be a very active asset in the community. The families have come to trust and confide their problems with Diiro Child Care Foundation workers allowing us to provide them with counselling and support.
The greatest ongoing issues appears to be access to quality affordable education, clean water and Hygiene.
As Diiro child care foundation has been able to support communities to improve on the hygiene and also get access to clean water through giving out toothbrushes and paste, clothes, mattresses , water filters to the most affected areas both schools and communities at large .We have supported 50 out of 150
under privileged children by assisting them with school fees and requirements,as well as 20 elders whom we provide with food and other basic needs.
SustainabilityAgriculture
is a major source of food crop in Uganda. It is our aim as a foundation through
Agriculture to continuously provide for our children and elders in the
vulnerable community with food. We have
managed to do maize[corn] farming but since the land
we use is not ours and its on lease yet the cost of lease keep on going high we
plan to buy our own land if we get some support from good Samaritans. We look forward to cultivate food crops like, sweet potatoes, yams, matooke(green banana), beans,
cabbage, greens, groundnuts etc. This will help us attain a balanced diet
within our children and elders. .Those farming on the land take portion of the crops to help support their families and the remaining crops is taken to market to be sold and cater for the needy children's, food, school fees and other requirements which reduces on food cost and also to reinvest in the program. This program is managed by Juma.
Finances
As always, our monthly outgoings exceed our monthly income from regular donors.
Fundraising
There is one active fundraising project going on GlobalGiving platform, and this is the total amount in USD 34,998 we hope to raise for this project.
Future Plans
