Challenge

VOTR would like to connect with a group of volunteers who are interested in working with us on walking and running events that will help veterans get back on the road. Therefore the Director of Philanthropy is running the Cherry Blossom 10-miler. We are also inviting community members who run and walk to join us on our quest. Our plan is to connect with a group here in the area that offers regular running opportunities to veterans around DC, however we need more volunteers. Will you join us?

Solution

We want to encourage more veterans to engage in regularly focused health and wellness excursions. When we engage with community members it encourages the veterans to broaden their commitments to health and wellness.

Long-Term Impact

The potential long-term impact of this effort will be enhanced health and wellness for veterans in our care and an increase in the likelihood that the continue these health and wellness activities after they become permanently housed. We know that we can do this, and we hope you will join us!
